So you've booked your session. Thats awesome! This is just the start of your journey.
The following style guide should help you get the best out of your session and help to get the most incredibly mind-blowingly fantastical images for you.
So, what do you need to know to make sure that you get the best from your time in front of the camera.
First, bring a few clothing options with you. We recommend dark and light tops both formal and informal to get a few different looks. Look for items that are ideally not heavily patterned as this will draw attention away from your face. Wear something you like. Wear something that makes you feel good. Channel your inner Thor or bring out your crazy Catwoman side. If you love it, we're gonna love it!
Presentation Guidelines/Dresscode Ladies
Ladies you’d ideally want to come made up with your hair done for the session but we can arrange a make-up artist and hairstylist for your session if you so wish for an additional fee (Please contact us prior to your session to discuss your options if you wish to take advantage of this). Bring a few different jewellery options. If you’re going to get your eyebrows or top lip waxed, plucked, or tidied. Get it done at least a day before. DON'T PANIC if you wake up with a zit from hell. It happens. We can fix it.
Presentation Guidelines/Dresscode Men
Gents - get groomed, EYEBROW, EAR & NOSE HAIR!! Get it plucked or trimmed - we want you to look amazing and this personal regime is part of it. Turn up with your hair done and if you have facial hair wax it, trim it, or get it styled. Don’t worry too much about a spot or blemish - talk to us about it we can tidy up or remove anything you aren’t happy with. Clothes wise. A good white formal shirt always looks good and you can add or remove a tie, sweater, or jacket should you want a different look.
Colours, Fabrics and Accessories
This is really personal to you and should reflect your personality or whatever image you're trying to convey. Do you wear a bow in your hair? If so bring some choices with you. Do you have long dangly earrings, studs or nose rings? Bring some options with you.
When it comes to fabrics and clothing remember the session is a minimum of an hour long and whilst the lights aren't particularly hot, you will be standing in front of them. Choose clothes you'll be comfortable spending some time in.
The goal of these sessions is to help you feel happy with your appearance and self-image and get some amazing headshots that you’ll love. Just wear what feels comfortable and consider where the images are going - i.e. LinkedIN, Facebook, Instagram, the wall in your Nan's hallway........ you get the picture.
